Anesthesiology 2007 Match Results
We are delighted to announce the results of the 2007 national
residency match for our program.
After a long and very thorough interview season, and after waiting
a few weeks for the National Residency Matching Program
computers to crunch everyone’s rank lists, we were rewarded
with this bright and promising class of 2011.
Once again, our specialty was a very popular choice. Nationally
1338 positions were offered (575 categorical, 763 advanced)
and only 52 positions were not filled (14 categorical and 38 advanced).
This year, the ACGME accredited our program for an increase
of two positions. This is the first entering class of 14. We added
the two new positions to the Advanced (3-yr) program.
Thank you to everyone who contributed in direct and indirect
ways to make the recruiting season a success: the faculty who
interviewed the 118 applicants; the residents who hosted and
talked with all those people; the nurses who helped with breaks;
the support staff who visited with applicants and pitched in to
set up lunches and such...... in short, thanks to the department.
These eight people matched with our Categorical (4-yr) program. They
will be arriving here in June to start rotations.
