Collaborative Anesthesia and Obstetric Care of the High-Risk Delivery

Statement of Need

This one-day course will focus on the obstetric and anesthetic considerations and preparations for the management of high-risk parturients.

Target Audience

This activity is designed to increase the knowledge of practicing anesthesiologists, obstetricians, nurse anesthetists, residents and students.

Learning Objectives

By the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss means to decrease maternal mortality.
  • Identify current guidelines for FHR monitoring categories.
  • Discuss the components of the OB hemorrhage protocol.
  • Discuss the guidelines for VBAC.
  • Identify peripartum factors influencing neonatal
    outcomes.
