Statement of Need

This six-day course will focus on reviewing concepts and new advances in pain management, regional anesthesia, critical care, cardiac anesthesia and fluid management.

Target Audience

This activity is designed to educate or refresh the knowledge of practicing anesthesiologists, critical care specialists, nurse anesthetists, anesthesia assistants, physician assistants, anesthesiology residents and students.

Learning Objectives

By the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• compare current therapies and guidelines that are evolving to optimize care of the perioperative patient
• assess optimum pain management techniques and review their performance using workshops and didactic sessions
• evaluate and interpret fluid management guidelines for the care of the perioperative patient
